Young Sparks Fund
A TUWC initiative that fuels the brilliance of young visionaries. We provide funding, mentorship, and holistic support for values-led entrepreneurs aged 16–30 who are ready to create impact, innovate ethically, and lead with purpose.
Why This Initiative Matters
Many young people hold extraordinary ideas—ideas that can uplift communities, transform industries, and heal the world.
Yet too often, they lack two essential ingredients:
Someone to believe in them—and the resources to begin.
The Young Sparks Fund exists to bridge that gap. We walk beside emerging entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, including those who have exited foster care, left school early, or faced personal hardship. This is a space where talent meets opportunity, and purpose meets possibility.
Eligibility & Values Alignment
Applicants must:
- ✔️ Be aged 16–30
- ✔️ Hold a business idea, creative project, or innovation with ethical intent
- ✔️ Demonstrate willingness to participate in mentoring and development
- ✔️ Align with TUWC values of healing, community, sustainability, and purpose
- ✔️ Commit to responsible use of funds and regular check-ins
We welcome applicants from all walks of life, especially those facing systemic barriers.
What We Fund
The Young Sparks Fund supports a wide range of youth-led ventures, including:
- ✔️ Social enterprises and community projects
- ✔️ Wellness, arts, and creative businesses
- ✔️ Ethical e-commerce or product-based ventures
- ✔️ Eco-innovation and sustainability projects
- ✔️ Technology-for-good initiatives
- ✔️ Healing, education, or purpose-led programs
All projects must demonstrate positive impact and values alignment.
Grant Funding Levels
Young entrepreneurs may apply for one of four funding streams:
- $2,000 Micro-Grant – early idea development, equipment, licensing, foundational costs
- $5,000 Seed Grant – launching a small ethical business or project
- $10,000 Impact Grant – scaling a venture with measurable community benefit
- $20,000+ Catalyst Scholarship – for exceptional visionaries with high-impact potential
All grants include mentoring, accountability support, and foundational business coaching.
The Mentorship & Support Journey
Each participant receives:
- ✔️ Monthly 1:1 mentoring with conscious entrepreneurs
- ✔️ Access to wellness sessions, emotional regulation tools, and self-belief development
- ✔️ Business planning, branding guidance, and launch support
- ✔️ Networking opportunities and purpose-led community events
- ✔️ A safe, supportive environment to grow their vision
The 5-Stage Young Sparks Pathway
Stage 1: Vision & Application – Clarifying purpose, values, and idea.
Stage 2: Mentorship & Training – 6–12 weeks of coaching and development.
Stage 3: Grant Awarded – Participants receive their approved grant level.
Stage 4: Launch & Support – 12 months of guidance, accountability, and growth.
Stage 5: Showcase & Celebration – An end-of-year event where youth share their journey.
Safety, Screening & Integrity
All mentors and team members undergo screening and youth-safety training. Participants receive support tailored to their emotional, cultural, and developmental needs.
Updated Donation Tiers
- $100 – funds one hour of expert mentoring
- $500 – supports youth through application & planning
- $2,000 – fully sponsors a micro-grant
- $5,000 – funds a seed grant for a young entrepreneur
- $10,000 – sponsors a full impact grant
- $25,000+ – funds a Catalyst Scholarship or multiple grants
Prelaunch Funding Vision
- Grant Pool (Micro–Catalyst): $200,000
- Mentoring, Training & Administration: $80,000
- Co-working, Events & Showcase: $100,000
- Tools, Systems & Branding: $40,000
